Ernest Holmes – Science of Mind

Truth frees one from themselves and sets them on a pathway of new experience, which enables them to see through the mist to the Eternal and Changeless Reality – Ernest Holmes – Science of Mind

In choosing to see only from the facts of the conditions of one’s life, one comes to sense into a false reality, to see into a smokey mirror, to become lost in a seeming illusion of a limited and false reality of a fog of deceptions created by one’s very own perceptions. One’s perceptions of seeing only what lies before one rather than of seeing into the cause behind event or circumstances which now may appear as the totality of one’s life situation. A situation of such magnitude of focus one cannot find their way through the fiction of story the facts seem to tell. A fiction of false story of one’s life created by seeing only from the facts before them, rather than coming from a faith that there is a new and different perspective of a possibility of seeing rightly from a different and alternative point of view.

“No problem can be solved by the consciousness that created it” Albert Einstein.

The Blackboard Professor – Einstein

An alternative point of view which brings one to seeing rightly that what lies before one is not a permanent condition or situation but that it is a situation which has captured one’s foreground of thought – and by so doing has created a mental equivalent – which has now out pictured as the story of one’s life. What we think about we bring about by bringing it to it our focus of attention. Deepak Chopra says “Put your attention where your intention is.”

Don Miguel Ruiz – The Four Agreements

“Attention is the ability we have to discriminate and to focus only on that which we want to perceive” – Don Miguel Ruiz, The Four Agreements. If we choose to see through a looking glass filled with the smoke of the singularity of perception we will see only from that one and limited perception. By so doing we will see only the imagery of facts from that limited point of view from which will create a fiction of the way things are from that singular frame of reference. We will miss entirely that beyond the smoke or fog of our own singularity of view, their is an entirely different and simultaneously other occurring reality from which one could choose to live.

While the facts which lie before us appear very real, very real indeed they in truth are an outer manifestation in the material world realm of things – of the images we hold in our minds. If one can see one’s mind as a movie projector, and as the film running through the projector, and the light of the projector shining through the film passing frame by frame before it – one can begin to see how what one thinks about one brings about. Frame by frame one builds the movie of one’s life from the set of one’s choices of beliefs, values, attitudes.

What one thinks about in terms of mental images, what one speaks about in terms of one’s inner dialogue with oneself, what feeling tones of energy and emotions one creates by the stories one tells oneself – becomes the movie of the story of one’s life. If one builds the story of the film of one’s life only from the finite facts of the conditions of this world one forgoes the the possibilities of seeing rightly from the True Reality of Infinite Potentiality.

When the facts of our life lead us astray – faith leads us back to the path of seeing rightly, to the practice of daily prayer, to a new reality, a higher reality, a brighter reality, a bigger reality of a world that works not just for ourselves but for everyone. Faith to me is the keyhole through which the light of love, kindness and compassion shines through into the dark of the room we are in. As we come to look beyond the keyhole of our own perceptions we realize there are other rooms we may enter, rooms filled with the bounty of Heaven’s Grace.

There is a story of a man who entered Heaven and was greeted by God. God said you are welcome in my kingdom – but I warn you do not open the door to your left. The man asked why he was not to open the door to the left. God replied “It will make you very sad. The man proceeded to open the door – inside was a room of amazingly beautifully wrapped gifts. ‘These gifts just in their wrapping are so beautiful why would I be sad” said the man. God replied “Because what is inside the wrapping the gifts are far more beautiful – and those are all the gifts I had for you – you chose not to see – and not to open in you lifetime.” Will we live from the facts of our conditions which create a false reality or will we come to see rightly from the gift of new perspective and live from the gift of as in Heaven so on earth?

Today’s Prayer: Today I open the gift of seeing rightly from a new point of view.
