Ernest Holmes: Think.  Be.  See It.

Emmet Fox: Free to Be Me

Science of Mind (SOM) writings of Ernest Holmes honor the idea: what you think about you bring about. Or simply, THINK IT.  BE IT.  SEE IT. Emmet Fox (1886-1951) a New Thought leader and metaphysical lecturer shared it this way: “Whatever enters into your life is but the material expression of some belief in your own mind.”  The beliefs, values, and attitudes we hold in our mind create the reality of our daily life.  It is said some people live the same day over and over again, as if on auto-pilot, thus repeating the patterns of their past. Yet others greet each day with open arms, open heart, open mind, and with the affirmation: “TODAY I AM FREE TO BE ME.”  By choosing to live from the past precedents of one’s beliefs, values, and attitudes held in thought in one’s mind, one recreates from the mirror of our yesterday’s the image of our today’s.Is the way of your yesterday the path you want to take today?

Poet Frost: I Took The One Less Traveled By

Robert Frost’s poem “The Road Not Taken” speaks to the dilemma of decision, to the power of choice, to the possibility of living each and every day afresh and anew.

Judge Troward: I am, I can, I will

“Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, – and sorry I could not travel both – And be one traveler, long I stood – And looked down one as far I could – To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, – And having perhaps the better claim, – Because it was grassy and wanted wear; – Though as for that the passing there, Had worn them really about the same, -And both that morning equally lay – In leaves no step had trodden black.  – Oh, I kept the first for another day! – Yet knowing how way leads on to way, – I doubted if I should ever come back. – I shall be telling this with a sigh – Somewhere ages and ages hence; – Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and I, – I took the one less traveled by, – And that has made all the difference.”  The Science of Mind teachings of Ernest Holmes speak to the truth that the road we choose to take in life, either well-worn and familiar path, – or untaken and unfamiliar path – begins with our power of choice to choose what thoughts we think. Thomas Troward speaks of qualities of God as being those of Love, Light, Life, Power, Peace, Joy, and Beauty.  As we think these qualities in our mind, so become the days of our lives.

Ralph Waldo Emerson: Actions speak loudly

As one comes to embrace the SOM teachings one’s life comes to change for the better.  For what one thinks about one brings about in one’s life.

Van Gogh’s: The Starry Night

Thoughts become words.  Words become Actions.  Action becomes character.  Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Your actions speak so loud, I can’t hear what you say.”             As we come to believe, we are what we think, what we think, comes to be who we are.  And in truth who we are is All as Love and Love as All. Robert Browning stated, “All’s love, yet all’s law.”  Love acting in, as, and through law are key to SOM teachings.  Basically stated “What we think about, we bring about.”  Our inner subjective perspective becomes our outer pictured objective reality.  Victor Huge wrote this about perception “There is one spectacle grander than the sea, that is the sky; there is one spectacle grander than the sky, that is the interior of the soul.”  At the interior of one’s soul resides a universe as vast as the exterior cosmos of the all of the sun, the moon, the stars, and beyond.  Vincent Van Gogh’s “The Starry Night” speaks from beyond the painter’s brushstrokes of oil on canvas alone.  It speaks from a oneness of soul of universal truth of All as Love and Love as All.

All as Love

Science of Mind Declaration of Principles: “WE believe – in God, the Living Spirit Almighty; one, indestructible, absolute and self-existent Cause.  This One manifests itself in and through all creation but is not absorbed by Its creation.  The manifest universe is the body of God; it is the logical and necessary outcome of the infinite self-knowingness of God…We believe in the incarnation of the Spirit in humankind and that all people are incarnations of the One Spirit…We beleive in the eternality, the immortality and the continuity of the individual soul, forever and ever expanding…We believe that the Kingdom of Heaven is within us and the we experience this Kingdom to the degree that we become conscious of it…We believe the ultimate goal of life to be a complete emancipation from all discord of every nature, and that this goal is sure to be attained by all…We believe in the unity of all life, and that the highest God and the innermost God is one God.”  Science of Mind believes in the freedom of every living soul through the truth of love as all.

Martin Luther King Jr. expressed the same truth of All as Love in his own way, own surety, own sanctity when he spoke these words “I have decided to stick with love.  Hate is too great a burden to bear.”  He said of faith “Faith is taking the first step, even when you can’t see the whole staircase.”  He said of life “Our lives begin to end, the day we become silent about things that matter.”  He further said, “Everything Hitler did in Germany was legal.” Science of Mind teaches that “there is no healing to be done only the revealing of truth.”  The truth revealed is All as Love and Love as All.  Love is the great redeemer.  Love is the great healer.  Love is the great creator and sustainer of the universe.  Faith is the bridge which leads to the transcendence of dark into light, and of fear into love.  Marin Luther King Jr. shared of the choice between dark and light, and love and fear “We must live together as brothers or perish together as fools.”  He left behind a legacy of great thoughts, words, and actions.  He talked, walked, and lived the light of truth that thoughts become words. Words become actions.  Actions become character.  His left behind a legacy of great faith.

In my book Heartlight – Illusion to Illumination – Honoring Soul Whispers Within I refer to the word faith as the acronym F.A.I.T.H.  And I share the acronym F.A.I.T.H.  as meaning falling

Become Participant, Preacher, Parachute

always into Heaven.  And as we fall always into Heaven, Heaven falls always into us.  As we permit ourselves to enter into the consciousness of the One Mind, or to what Ernest Holmes called “The Thing Itself” we come to experience, embody, and express from the Reality of All as Love and Love as All.  It is as we become our own participant, preacher, and parachute, by choosing the thoughts we think, the words we speak, the actions we take, by which we will create a world that works for everyone.  What words, thoughts, and actions will you call forth in your life this week?  What is yours to do today, this week, and in your life?  Think it.  Be it.  See it.  And, so it is.
